Gulf Coast Consulting

A Texas Small Business Company

Gulf Coast Consulting's industry experience and focus began with a 1989 economic down-cycle in real estate proceeded by 1978's Black Monday.  Now there's adversity, but through ashes we move to 1989 where we gladly returned to our petrochemical design and construction roots.

Migrating home meant getting back to our own Green Lake version of "Plant Row" where we cut our teeth as college break summer labor, as welders helpers, pipe fitters helpers, instrument and electrician techs, then stepping up to design drafters, safetymen, lab techs, and shift-work process operators.

In 1992 the US Chemicals Process industry and its Pre-Boom economic up swing was briefly enjoyed until struck down with a financially burdening paradigm shift classified as " Process Safety Management".  The Department of (OSHA) Occupational Safety Health and Administration handed down a federal mandate, Regulation 29 CFR 1910.119, Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals; Final Rule; February 24, 1992, more at www.OSHA.gov >>

29 CFR PSM mandates all chemical process plants to meet new regulations and guidelines.  Primary focused was on Process operations integrity due to recent years of catastrophic plant chemical releases, worker exposure, accidents, fires, injuries, and many deaths.  This industry compliance regulation included engineering documentation auditing subpart regulations.  This created our new realized business strategy and niche.  We developed customized process CAD drafting and design tools which became a great new commodity and base for our future business opportunity.

In 1994, that business opportunity became a reality after reaching a consensus that was concluded after the previous 4 years of working, shadowing, and studying the men and women heading the local good ole boy engineering companies. It made us realized they were holding us back from our inevitable leap to establish the first family owned partnership, Reytech Technical Services LLC.  It was 5 years and several multi-million awarded contract that fast-tracked us to diversify into new markets primarily technologies in infancy development stages.

Our incubator created the first spark driving an interest by major industry players that were our clients.  These applications were the first tagged Smart Technology.  Smart Technologies were developed for applications consisting of engineering, construction safety, maintenance, inspection, field as-builts, plant operations trending, document management and distribution to recording and reporting applications, These tasks were once managed with redundant and very archaic systems.  Systems lacking a vehicle and communication channel to instantaneously capture and  distribute engineering and field critical process information.

In 1996, we began a business diversification developing technology applications using the first wireless hand-held computers, canned memory chips, RF-Radio frequency spread-spectrum WANs, systems, and applications.  This niche markets strategy was to try and fill a void in petrochemical engineering, operations, and field services.   Technologies to focus on reducing redundancy, legacy systems, operations and maintenance engineering and construction manual inefficient systems.

In 1999, GCC became a spin-off strategy company offering clients a channel to develop prototype or underdeveloped technologies to completely commercialized products.  GCC provides its clients with clear foresight to bring their ideas to markets as the next big thing...or a new innovation.

Today GCC brings 25 years of relentless market focus that meshes business and emerging technologies together to develop innovative products and services to the private and public sectors.

Our latest experience has taken us to meet some of the most brilliant scientific minds in the world.  From Russia, to Norway, to Brazil, we have encompassed the globe to seek out emerging technologies and the renowned scientist who have incubated these innovative technologies.  We provide the vehicle and the platform to commercialize these technologies and deliver them to the world.

We have seen the industry's recent signals and we know the cycle is upon us again.  The economy's pendulum is swinging in America's favor again and we are ready.

Having experience with major corporations and companies such as BP Chemicals, DuPont, Alcoa, and Dow over the years, has given us a few great clients that provided us an opportunity...to help them succeed.
